Looking for a Life in Theatre
John Medlin has loved writing for as long as he remembers. His work has been staged throughout North Louisiana and has received recognition through the Del Shores Foundation New Playwrights Search and the New Play Exchange. He loves to write on LGBTQIA+ issues, create avenues for proper and ethical representation, and celebrate the things that make us all unique.
HIS EXPERIENCE
John received his associate degree from Bossier Parish Community College in 2016. He graduated from Northwestern State University of Louisiana in 2022. He is currently attending The University of Glasgow pursuing his MLitt in Playwrighting and Dramaturgy. He is expected to graduate in the fall of 2023.

HIS PERSONAL LIFE
John Medlin was born in Clovis City, New Mexico. He moved around a lot as a child with his father, Brad, serving in the Air Force. He now lives between Glasgow, Scotland, and Shreveport, Louisiana as he pursues his Masters's Degree. He is happily married to Steven Belk. Together they raise their Boston Terrier Karen.
